Do I have to incorporate all of the load ins, dismounts, and release moves to receive my load ins score? I have 2 stunt sections in my routine right now. One of the sections incorporates my transitional skills, and the other one is more simple but has more stunts in the air.  How will those be scored?

Coach Question:  Do I have to incorporate all of the load ins, dismounts, and release moves to receive my load ins score? I have 2 stunt sections in my routine right now. One of the sections incorporates my transitional skills, and the other one is more simple but has more stunts in the air.  How will those be scored?

Answer from Jeremi Sanders, JAMcamps/JAMscore Director
“Great question, this is really broken into 2 parts:

The answer to your first question is no.  You will receive a score based on the elements you do incorporate into your load ins and dismounts skills, and the more of those level appropriate elements you can incorporate, the higher your score will be for that skill.

The second answer is that your first section of stunts that has more transitional elements but less groups will be used to score your difficulty and your load ins, dismounts, and release moves categories. Your second section with more stunts in the air will be used to score your quantity category (as long as that stunt section is incorporating level appropriate skills).

Good luck this season!”

Coach Question: What are the top three trends in competitive cheerleading uniforms?

Answer from Lynn Singer, Spirit Innovations
The 2010 Spirit Innovations catalog features these trends:

1. Back Details
Cut outs, logos, lettering and other decoration in back designs are big for the 2009-2010 competition season.

2. Specialty Fabrics and Braid
Mystic, stretch sequin, sparkle spandex and an expanded offering of animal prints are making their way into featured areas of uniforms, logos and braid.  Spice up your uniform with splashes of color and sparkle!

3. Coordinated Wardrobes
Your look doesn't start and end with your uniform.  Personalized warm-ups, bows, mystic polyester tote bags, custom socks, make-up bags and much more give you a winning image from head to toe.

Coach Question: I’m in need of an experienced tumbling coach, but have been unsuccessful in finding one.  How can I find one for our gym?

Answer from Tara Patton, JAMcare Representative
Well, there are many resources you can tap into. 1) contact a local gymnastics facility and see if there are possibilities of working together, or ask if they have any staff members that may be interested in working one night a week with your teams 2) put your information on the various cheer message boards that are available on the internet 3) place ads in surrounding newspapers and job boards.
