MARKET, MARKET, MARKET! Focus on ways to keep your name in front of BOTH current and prospective customers. Use cost-effective ways to market your gym, and remember that marketing is the LAST thing to cut during challenging times.
LOOK SHORT & LONG TERM! Be careful that you don’t lose focus on the long term while searching for a short term “band-aid” for issues. Invest in opportunities that have the most potential for both the short AND long term.
BE CREATIVE! Think of NEW ways to create income. Fill the dead time at your facility. Offer new things that are complementary to what you are already doing. Stretch your thinking to create ways to bring in extra revenue.
KEEP IT POSITIVE & FUN! Focus on creating a FUN, positive, healthy and competitive environment to show parents that you really are there to better their kids in all areas of life.
KEEP STAFF MOTIVATED! Communicate openly and directly with your staff about concerns, challenges and, more importantly, solutions. Make your staff members feel 100% vested in your program. And, don’t forget to recognize your staff members for positive actions.
WORK TOGETHER! Build strong and positive relationships with other gyms, schools and recreation leagues in and around your area. Use each other to share ideas and discuss potential opportunities.
